Schools Corporate Enterprise Initiative
| |
As part of our own Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, we are aiming to liaise with Transition Year Co-ordinators and provide students with a more realistic exposure to, and insight into, corporate entrepreneurship complexities, responsibilities and opportunities.
Our aim is to teach 4th/5th Year students about what exactly is involved in setting up and running a company via a ‘Fantasy’ Company. Ideally, we would visit the school, give the students a brief presentation and explain what this initiative includes.
Each company set up will comprise of roughly five students who must create their own business idea.
All profits made by the students can go to charity, to the school or can be split among themselves.
The Directors/Shareholders (i.e. the students) will be required to file forms, hold Board Meetings, take Minutes, maintain documentation and keep account of their income and expenditure. We envisage the Directors/Shareholders visiting the Board Room at our offices at some stage during the year to discuss their business and provide as much assistance as we possibly can.
So far we have received huge interest from schools in the South-East region and would be delighted to have your school on board for the coming school year.
It is our hope that by explaining and involving students in every aspect of business startup scenarios they may have a greater understanding of the corporate business world or maybe even contemplate establishing their own corporate enterprises at some time in the future.
